We are licensed to hold civil ceremonies in a number of beautiful locations, both indoor and out…the choice is yours. If you are considering a church wedding, St Margaret’s church is located just a stone’s throw from the venue and can comfortably seat up to 100 guests
Following your ceremony, you have the opportunity to design your dream wedding reception.
From an informal BBQ and garden party to a traditional seated Wedding Breakfast, our elegant marquee and picturesque grounds are at your service.
At Downham Hall, we are incredibly proud of our food. All of our wedding packages feature restaurant quality menus, full of exciting seasonal dishes to suit every taste, all of which are complimented by an extensive wine list, craft ales and signature cocktails. Being a small team, we work closely with all of our couples to design a bespoke catering package perfectly tailored just for you.
At Downham Hall our food is freshly made in-house by our wonderful Head Chef and his team, using
good quality, local produce. We have a wonderful list of menus which have been especially created to provide
the perfect choice for every occasion and with our licensed bars serving a wide range of champagne, wine, beer,
cocktails and spirits, we promise all the right ingredients needed for a truly memorable event.
Our charming dressing room, with views overlooking the gardens to the rear of Downham Hall, is the ideal spot to sip a glass of bubbles

Your invite will inform you of arrival time but this is generally 30 minutes prior to the ceremony. The bar will be open before and after the Ceremony.
The evening finishes at 11.45 last orders at the bar, carriages requested by midnight.
If you are staying, check in is from 3pm but we will try our utmost to have a room ready early. Please contact us directly prior to staying to check if this is possible. Check out is 10am.
If you are part of the Bridal party, access to the Bridal Changing room is from 8am.
You are welcome to leave your car overnight. Please note this at the owners' risk.
We allow only naturally dried flower petals due to the wildlife here
Our bar accepts cash and card but not Amex.
We do allow dogs but please check with the bridal couple.
Our bridal couple will inform us of dietary requirements prior to the wedding. Please note if we ask to be informed on the day we will be unlikely to be able to adapt.
Please note food choices are made prior to the Wedding Day and cannot be changed on the day.
Baby Changing facilities can be found in the house.
Our venue is wheel chair accessible, please inform us if using a wheelchair. Disabled toilets can be found in the main Hall.
High chairs are also available and we would be informed by the bridal couple prior to the day if needed.
Please note children must be supervised at all times. We have a part moat which is roped but kindly ask that children and adults are cautious.
Exquisite day
We had our wedding reception at Downham Hall last weekend, just a simple afternoon tea with our family and it was absolutely perfect! Not only is the venue stunning but the staff are incredible. They were so kind and attentive, every need taken care of. We also got to stay in the bridal suite which topped our day off, such beautiful views of the area. We will definitely be returning in the near future.
Wedding Day at Downham Hall
We held our wedding ceremony & reception at Downham Hall at the end of June and the team there really helped to make the day special for us! The venue itself is stunning and has the loveliest of views all around. The food was amazing and we had so many compliments from guests - we’ve had people still mentioning the quality of the food weeks later! Debra, Christina, Ben, Andy & the rest of the team really were wonderful in the lead up to & on the day. We’re so grateful for all of their help! We had multiple guests describe it as the ‘perfect wedding venue’ and we couldn’t agree more. Thank you for helping to make our wedding day unforgettable!
Great venue
We held our reception here in August 2022 and Downham Hall was an excellent venue. The food was great and the venue is all yours and not huge, which is what we wanted. When we signed up they didn't have a marriage licence yet and were relatively new to the game so we were fortunate to get a great deal on the price. I know they've been making improvements ever since. Their planner left right before the wedding but the girl who substituted did a fantastic job on the day. There were a couple of very minor issues as you'd expect anywhere but they were sorted with no fuss and certainly nothing to stop me recommending the venue. The rooms were lovely and the breakfast the next morning exceeded all expectations too.
Amazing wedding at Downham Hall!
We got married at Downham Hall at the beginning of June. The venue was amazing, the grounds have been really worked on and improved since we booked a few years ago with a lovely garden terrace and pergola added, which made for a lovely area for our guests to be in for our drinks reception. The grounds here speak for themselves and make for a great backdrop for wedding photos. The staff were brilliant and so helpful throughout the whole planning stage too, especially Debra. A lot of of our guests commented on this too, one lady even dropped two of our guests back to their hotel at 1am when her shift ended as they couldn’t get a cab, which was very unexpected and things like that just make a difference! We occupied all the rooms on the evening of our wedding and again all lovely and very comfortable.
